“Systems, Theories, Policies and Practices: An Introductory PhD Course in Sustainability Transitions Research”

We are extremely excited to announce that the first STRN PhD school on sustainability transitions will be hosted by Hans Hellsmark and colleagues from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden from Feb. 3-7, 2025.
The course will cover the following fundamental topics
Introduction to Sustainability Transitions
- A System’s Perspective on Innovation and Sustainability Transitions
- Key Theories including MLP and Innovation Systems
- Global South and Geography of Transitions
- Just and Inclusive Transitions
- Transformative Innovation Policy
- Intensive paper development workshop and individual feedback

The course will be free of charge (including coffees, lunches and the PhD School dinner). It will be possible to get ECTS points for this course. There will be plenty of networking opportunities with fellow PhD candidates and senior scholars.
